Aarhus’ mest kendte restaurant
Mackie’s Pizza & Cantina er ikke bare en restaurant. Det er efterhånden blevet en kulturinstitution i Aarhus.
Det hele startede i midten af 1970’erne, da skotten Ian McPhearson åbnede et af byens allerførste pizzeriaer på hjørnet af Sankt Clemens Torv.
Restauranten blev i 1980 fuldt overdraget til en DJ fra Blackpool i England ved navn Mickey Lee, som over de næste 35 år forvandlede restauranten til en institution i hjertet af Aarhus.

It all started in the mid-1970s when a Scotsman, Ian McPhearson, opened one of the first pizzabars in Aarhus on the corner of Skt. Clemens Torv.
In 1980 the restaurant was fully taken over by an English DJ from Blackpool, Mickey Lee, who turned the place into an institution in the heart of Aarhus.

Amerikansk stil og tynde bunde
Amerikanske pizzaer med tynde bunde og højt fyld, store burgere og saftige steaks blev hurtigt restaurantens specialiteter, mens væggene langsomt blev dekoreret med legendariske guitarer, signerede fodboldtrøjer af b.la. Ronaldo og Messi samt andre ikoniske effekter, som Mickey Lee fandt rundt omkring i verden.
Restauranten er rundet af Mickey Lee’s sigøjnergener, den britiske fodboldkultur og den amerikanske madkultur.
Stilen er nede på jorden med fokus på kvalitet til fornuftige priser, så hele familien kan komme med.
American-style pizzas with thin and crispy crusts and rich toppings, big burgers and juicy steaks quickly became Mackie’s specialities while the walls gradually were decorated with legendary guitars, signed football shirts by, among others, Ronaldo and Messi , and other iconic effects that Mickey Lee found around the world.
The restaurant sprang from Micky Lee’s gypsy genes, British football culture and American food culture.
The style is down to earth with focus on high quality at affordable prices allowing the whole family to enjoy a tasty meal in a cosy and relaxed atmosphere.

Den småhøje rock ‘n’ roll musik har skabt en stemning i restauranten, som man ikke finder andre steder, og som ikke bare aarhusianerne har forelsket sig i, men også kendisser lige fra kronprins Frederik til den legendariske rock’n’roller Alice Cooper.
Restauranten drives i dag videre i Mickey Lee’s ånd af hans familie
The Rock’n’Roll background music has created an atmosphere in the restaurant not to be found elsewhere – an atmosphere that not only the locals have fallen in love with but also celebrities like Crown Prince Frederik and the legendary rock’n’roller Alex Cooper.
Today the restaurant is run in Mickey Lee’s spirit by his family.
